    This special is set 100 years after GT takes place, but PRIOR to the very end of GT with the "100 years later tournament" scene. Goku Jr., Pan's grandson, is a far cry from his several-generations-ago grandfather who has long since passed on. He's a wimp and a weakling who is bullied constantly, But when his grandmother falls ill, he sets out on a journey to Mount Paozu, to retrieve his ancestor's magical Dragon Ball, in an effort to cure his grandmother
