Power down your ps3 correcty

Well i'm sooooo pissed of because i've messed up the 2nd ps3 hard drive i've purchased.....

Cause: Turning off the ps3 while it was reading the hard drive,

Reason, Pro evolution soccer does not give you the option to quit a game once you start playing, until the game is over, so if you get someone with a really bad connection and the players are morphing all over the place because of the lag, the guy is beating you 10 - 0 and thiers nothing you can do about it so you just turn off the ps3....

i've formated the hard drive on my laptop, run chkdsk and found errors so i've repaired them using chkdsk /r, the laptop said it's fixed but i still get problems, writing data when it's used in the ps3 (writes the data fine, but can't read it) i've tried putting the ps3 into safe mode and rebuilding the database & rebuilding the file system, and reformatting the hard drive, everything fails.. i've put mu old 40gb one back in and it works correctly, so i guess the 320gb is just broke.... 100gb of downloaded data lost

oh well, gonna to buy another one tomorrow, but a warning to all, turning off the system while its reading the hard drive can cripple it completely

wew...the ps3 sure is a delicate system...maybe its not for me... ^^

100g worth of data..man u must be pissed...but i heard there are s/w to retrieve data from broken hd.like getdata back.

maybe u could use that to scapre the data from the old hd n copy it to the new hd.

Linux and Game OS are completely unrelated, even you can't see what's in the partition conserved for the Game OS from the Linux and vice-versa.



And yeah, I've been turning off my PS3 properly since my last HDD(60GB) crashed beyond repair. Gladly there was nothing significant on it other than saved games which I gladly backed up
I have a 250GB now.
