Media DS card
This game is an absolute gem on the DS platform. It's hard to describe to someone who has never played, but think of it like Super Smash Brothers, with characters from your favourite manga and anime (like naruto, dragon ball z, bleach, etc...). On top of that awesomeness, you get an amazing "Deck" system, in which you place battle cards and stat-boosting cards to really power up your characters...it is simply a master piece, and hands down my most played DS game. You can make your dream-team of characters, like taking SSJ Goku, throwing Ichigo next to him, with Vegeta supporting them, and sakura as a stat boost. The strategies and possible fighting styles are truly endless. My personal favourite deck has Luffy (from One-piece) with Vegeta (Dragon Ball Z) supporting, along with regenerative and HP-boosting komas from a variety of anime/manga. I daresay, this deck has a huge area of effect and can easily mop up 2-3 players and throw them off the edge of the stage. Deadly! Take this game and create your own masterpiece dream team.
Try it, you wont regret it.
Gameplay Video:
Unfortunately it was only available in Japanese, and really hard to play that way... but it is now TRANSLATED. Yes, you read right. And it still works online. Beating adolescent Japanese kids never gets old... hahaha.

SOMA BRINGER
Remember Diablo 2? Epic dungeon crawling, randomized loot, entertaining co-op with others and epic bossfights? Imagine that, on your DS. That is exactly what Soma Bringer is. Developed by monolith soft, Soma Bringer is the only Diablo-like experience on the DS, enjoyable by up-to 4 player AD-HOC. An epic story, multiple classes to play including ranged, magician, melee and rogue, skills, stat points, multiple weapon types, totally randomized loot, monstrous bosses and named mobs, to name a few. You will find a lot to like here if you like action RPG's - you will fall in love if you enjoyed Diablo! Dont let this one slip.
PUYO PUYO 15TH ANNIVERSARY
This cute tetris-like puzzler is a great time killer - but dont be fooled by its colorful visuals. There is a deep and rewarding system under the hood. By chaining destroyed blocks, players increase the amount of damage done to their opponent. It is a little hard to describe, so you must try it for yourself. Be warned - it can get very addictive!
NON TRANSLATED (BUT JAPANESE NOT NEEDED):
Tennis no Ouji-Sama 2005 - Crystal Drive
After the popular manga and anime series, this portable tennis inspired game is hands down the best tennis game on the Nintendo DS. Featuring a huge roster of players (more than 20 at least) each with their own set of power abilities and statistics, left-right handedness, and height, this tennis game is truly an accomplishment on the DS. The colorful 2D graphics are to die for, allowing the game to run silky smooth even when 4 players are unleasing their ultimate attacks. Enjoy over-the top powers? Enable the option and snake-shot till you-re blue in the face. Dont like all that ridiculous power? Turn off abilities and have a gentleman's tennis match. Supporting 4 player Local, Acing your friend with your favourite character never gets old. Definitely recommended. No Japanese knowledge required!

COROPATA
There actually was a translation project for this, but I think it's dead. Thats not really too bad, since the game can easily be completed without knowing a single word of Japanese.
Control a cute little girl as she... er... delivers radishes. Yes, I know that sounds ridiculous, but only in Japan! (as they say). Comparable to "The Incredible Machine", the player has no direct control over the little girl, but can manipulate a number of objects in order to create a clear path for the girl to reach her goal. Hosting over 100 puzzles(stages), there is a lot to sink your teeth into here. Some of the puzzles are devilishly clever, and when you figure out how they are done, you will get that trademark "AHA!" feeling. If you want to put your brain to the test, and have some zany fun while youre at it, you wont be disappointed with Coropata.
