Default Full Speed Mega Man X2?

Alrighty, well I am a Mega Man X Junkie. Thanks to converting PSX games, or redone versions of games, or just easy to run games, I can do MMX 1,3,4,5, and 6... but for the life of me, I can't seem to get a full speed portable MMX 2. On every Snes version i try, I can get to the first boss, then bam, Wicked slowdown. Is there anyway to get this game up to full speed on a PsP? (or DS if it would matter.) Please, and Thank You! ^^

I've been wondering the same thing for months now! I've tried every emulator out there that works on 3.71, and they all play horribly. And I'm a Mega Man junkie through and through, like you. XD

The snes emulators available for the PSP really are a disappointment. For what was arguably the best home console ever made, this is what we get? The GBA is a more demanding machine to emulate, and the emulator for that is great on the PSP. It's sad that the SNES didnt get as much love as it deserves. There are some absolute gem's on the SNES console, that I would love to relive.

I have been able to get this game to work with little or no slowdowns (still a small slowdown on first boss but it is completely playable). I cannot get it to run right on PSP 3000 but i have been able to get it to work on slims. no there are some slow downs to it and it is not perfect but it is really close. the only emulator(and i tested alot of them) I could get to work correctly was snes9xtyl 0.4.2. ok here are the settings you will need

    Video:
    engine: psp accel.+ accur. soft.
    smoothing: yes
    speed limit switch: yes
    speed limit fps: auto
frameskip: 0 (can use 1 to speed up but it does cause some graphical issues)
    vsync: no
    render as pal: yes

    sound:
    sound mode: emulated, output
    output frequency: 22050hz
    apu cycles: 100%

    clockspeed: 222mhz

these are the best settings I could find to play this game. one of my favorite games and im glad i can now play it on the go

So i got curious after I posted my settings for Mega Man X2 so I got a copy of the Japanese Rockman X2 rom and tried it out and it seems to run at full speed with no slow downs on the same settings it seems to run perfectly. If you don't mind the Japanese text than this may work even better for those looking to play the game at full speed. If someone knows how to do ips patching for translation this may be the best option to play this game.

btw i tried it on the new euphoria beta 4 & 5 and i didnt have much success. good luck and let me know if it works better for you I am a huge megaman fan and I searched for an emulator that would specifically play these games. snes9x tyl 0.4.2. also seems to play other games that newer ones won't like mortal kombats, donkey kongs, but sadly no star fox. I use the same settings i used for megaman x2 and they seem to work pretty well, mortal mombat still has some sound issues.
