    Default memory question

hey guys just a quick question , when i changed to the m33 software for my psp with the pandora battery etc, it said in the instructions to do that you couldnt use above a 2gb memory stck as the games wouldnt work, now with there being 8gb and higher coming out and the fact that you can only get a couple of good size games on a 2gb is this right ? as id love to have more games on my stick so i have more of a choice of what to play. in my mond i cant see how it would affect it having a hight size memory stick, but what do i know.. :)

    First a few questions.....

Who told you that...Some other 'knowledgeable' site? Which instructions are you referring to? What firmware are you running? Slim or fat psp?

The only size compatibility issue that has existed as far as i can recall was the extended compatibility of the 1.50 kernel with Memory Sticks greater than 4gb's in size. However Dark Alex released a patch to remedy this (previously it would only recognise the first 4 gb's). If you have a Slim PSP all this is mostly irrelevant to you (excluding TM). If you have a fat PSP it's only relevant to 1.50 kernel homebrew and apps.

Weird...I have 3-4gb and 2 8-gb Ms's and they all work with no problems. Are you sure the 2gb thing applies to regular ms's and not the magic memorystick?
I remember when I modded my PSP it was recomended to use a smaller size MS(512 mb)to make the mms.I don't recall a size limit being displayed.I'm using a slim psp.if you're using a fat see above post by OSTINATO.

A MMS can be up to 4Gb in size so that's BS too....the PSP MS support is coded into the OFW as well and if i recall correctly extends to 32Gb at the moment.

I used the 512mb stick because it was the smallest I had and I found no use in using a larger size stick because I wanted to keep the mms as a backup. I didn't say a larger size couldn't be used.I just used what I had and what was suggested to me.

Don't worry i wasn't directing that at you....i'd never be intentionally curt with you Venom given your contributions here, so please don't take any offence. I just get irritated when people come here with info from other sites taking it as gospel when it's probably just taken from whoever replied first to a topic.
