Final Fantasy 9 problem

it nver worked for me a while ago but i want to try again cuz iv been wanting to play it again for a while, anyhoo i converted a cue/bin file (chose the bin in popstation) i added an icon,background pmf thumbnail and a sound file. i press convert and add it to GAME in mem stick.

i go go into the game bit on the psp and firstly the music dosnt play. even though i added it. the pmf works though. when i start it it plays the music by square soft bla bla..and then i get to the main menu. press new game. the confirm sound plays and then it goes to a blank screen. the psp hasnt turned off yet though. also..i remember downloading eboots and original isos from different sources and all failing. im on 5.00 M33-3, not that that should matter, im using 4.01 pops.

any suggestions? oh and FF7 works fine for me.

Which program did you use to rip the disc...it's well known that some imgae ripping software can create images that work poorly in eboot creation utilities.

Next, did you make a set of single disc eboots or just one massive multi disc eboot? I'd suggest making a single disc eboot for each disc (try PSX2PSP) and either not using popsloader at all (i.e using pops from flash) or if you must use 3.71.

i didnt rip the discs. they were downlaoded from a torrent ages back..i just kept them on my external drive there in bin/cue format (my discs are too scratched to get a decent rip probs). i made a single eboot of disc 1. tried multi disc..always fails :) im using simple popstation GUI 2 beta by zinga burga

a) Zinga's GUI is up to 3 beta.
b) Do what i said and try just using pops from flash and not loading an earlier version.
c) Have you installed the fatmsmod patch? If not why not update to 5.00M33-6 (doesn't help this problem but you may as well anyway)

well iv downloaded the 3 beta by zinga and used the same files. sound dosent work on the xmb while the game is highlighted. the beginning scene with the music begins the confirm sound of the new game too....and....there we go! the opening cutscene has started..........with no sound.
4.01 pops no sound.

i left cutscene going and theres in game sound and battle sound but some of the sounds are louder and they hurt ma ears! the slashing noises are okay. cuz the slashin noises in ff7 sounded like farts..any idea what the problem might be

okay the second cutscene with vivi lookin up at the airship just started and its got full sound....maybe its the first cutscene thats the problem? hope first cutscenes on the other discs dont have the same problem. anyway thank you very much!

It's a recognised problem with the first FMV. If you really want you could get the sound for that scene by starting on one of the other discs and selecting New Game. Obviously that means you'd need at least two separate eboots on one memory stick and would be a bit pointless for that sole purpose. The only other problem you may come across is the FMV at the start of the Festival which might also have sound issues.

I also wish my hearing was as good as yours...i doubt the PSP's speakers could ever hurt my ears!

yeah once again thanks. and it was the door opening at the beginning before baku jumps down. and it was up full just thought id post to say its working fine now. all the sounds are normal again the doors dont hurt ma ears no more!

ok... im completely clueless... i am experiencing what u had... my game doesnt work from the New Game... can u tell me what I need to do? a complete list would be good. thanks alot

hi im using ver5.00 m33-6 i can play ff9 till the fire bomb fight means
after the fight with fire bomb there is a cutscene of the airshio crashing and the queen telling the 2 clowns to get garnet
then the screen when blank
any advise what should i do? like what pop ver to use etc etc and where to dl it?

any suggestions is welcome
