    Default cfw work on 5.03 version and mms files

    hey. im new here and wanted to know if the pandora battery and magic memory stick would work on the new update.also i downloaded this one program for the mms that extracted stuff on my memory stick and am not sure if it works.how can i know if it works? plz help and thnx

    you should be able to use the pandora battery and mms to install cfw on any update. the problem is the newest psp(3000). so far, it hasn't been hacked. try taking a look at these threads if you haven't already they may help:How to create a magic memory stick, pandora battery & install cfw on a psp

    and just from past experience, if the mms doesn't work, neither does your psp.

    As xtrmegmr points out - Firmware is never the issue for CFW..it's the hardware you have. If you upgraded from an earlier firmware and bought your PSP some time ago then yes CFW will probably be possible. If however when you bought your PSP it was on the official firmware of 4.01 or higher the odds are that it's no compatible with the current CFW installation sequence.

    When did you buy your PSP? What firmware did it come with?

    well i bought mine used and its the blue madden psp. i heard that it has 3.95 firmware. does the blue psp really have 3.95 firmware and will i be able to make the battery into a pandora battery?

    Yes if your firmware is 3.95 installation of CFW shouldn't be an issue. However as you already know you'll need a Pandora battery - Personally i'd buy one from Deal Extreme, although King Of Kings has written a tutorial for breaking apart your own battery and hard modding it into a Pandora.

    Then you just need to use one of those guides mentioned above to make yourself a Magic Memory Stick for the downgrading process.

    CFW works on ALL firmwares currently released (5.03 and -). I just recently put it on a 5.03 so if it doesn't work on it then there's something different about the PSP not the firmware.
