Really? As mentioned earlier i've never tried one of these games but having just got GH3 for the PS2 for a bargain price i thought i might give one a go. The DJ Max games look like they're filled with weird korean techno, so the appeal of these games is songs that i actually recognise and might like.

What would you say are the big differences and the reason the DJ Max is the better bet...and which DJ Max for that matter? Fever?

RBU's songlist consists of 60s, 70s, 80s, 90s, and this decade. for me, it is half junk, so that would be the biggest downside. RBU also doesn't have as many songs as DJM. there is going to be DLC later though. in RBU you have the choice of switching instruments on the fly. if thats your thing. it just feels to me that DJM has more of the insane/fun that i like, not to mention that almost every track in the DJM series could be in its own genre.

which DJ Max for that matter? Fever?
fever is a compilation of parts 1 & 2 running on the black square engine. can't go wrong there, except that it doesn't have the 80s 8bit track that is in part 1.

you could try pump it up exceed or zero if you ever feel like taking it easy.

Sod that....i seldom find just pushing buttons in order fun, so going for something that's regarded as tough by people who actually get a kick out of "pushing buttons in sequence very rapidly", seems like an immediate turn off.

I knew Fever was a mash-up of 1 and 2 but had heard that it removes a great deal of the good content from it's predecessors. Put simply if you were to pick one of these Music games which would it be (only one....no compromise, although you're allowed a runner up). I don't mind a bit of a challenge but i often can't see the fun in these games, which is why familiar songs seem like some kind of motivation. I must be missing something but i don't see the reward of punishment in this genre, which is probably why i've never played a Guitar Hero game up until now (well technically i still haven't as GHIII is still sealed and the guitar lies unassembled...i'm just not that keen...i'd rather get killed over and over trying to S Rank DMC on DMD than miss little scrolling bars for what seems like no reason).

ive downloaded all the parts with no probs.

right theres not many songs on the game at the moment but yea, theres gonna be a music store. hope they dont overcharge.

but i like the songs better than dj max's japanese-korean techno pop
and difficulty setting is good, dj max is so hard at lvl 10+ songs

okay i had to use a torrent but i got it, its brill. better than the techno **** in the dj max games. i dont really like the switching but unlocking all songs, disabling solos and then just playing the guitar at the end on expert is good enough for me :) beats psp revolution & the DJmax titles for me..
