That'd only happen if you swapped the EBOOT.BIN, i'm talking about just changing the Audio prx
as their different languages changing just the eboot may give problems as some of the file names might be different, typically most rpg have a txt script file and jap one are normally called something like jap.txt while the English ones are are called something like US.txt,

it all depends what the guy swapped and how much of the jap version he put in it

And how do you extract to that extent? o.0, all i get is the resource file but i dunno how to get to the sound files

because somewhere i read about HM Sugartown... so is it the same?

The Japanese version of Harvest Moon: Hero of Leaf Valley is called Bokujou Monogatari: Sugar Mura to Minna no Negai. So yes, they are one and the same.
