    I don't think the release is focused on upgrades. It's more towards getting extra protection for developers by intergrating specific parts of the FW into the games.( the games will need parts of the fw to work).This is definitely one way for Sony to force gamers into upgrading to ofw.

    ^ Well, that's one of the obvious reasons.
    And if that the only case for the coming update then... I would be more than happy just to stay with my current FW (CFW to be exact ).

    *Edit*
    Nice sig BTW ^^

    That's pretty much the reason for any OFW update.Sony only throws in an extra "NEW" feature( internet radio, skype etc...) to sucker people into upgrading.If they didn't offer something as an extra "BONUS", nobody would update.

    How many of you actually use your browser on your PSP ? I hardly ever use mine. Why bother? PC/Laptop is easier and faster.

    I will never use an Official Firmware from Sony again, they limit what we can actually do with this bit of hardware.

    An OFW PSP isn't even as enjoyable as a NDS. Before I went CFW ( about 2 years ago ) my PSP was gathering dust and my DS was getting worn out.

    I can't see Sony jumping from 4.05 directly to 5.00 so soon, but I do know they are working hard to cut back guys like us. Greedy :censored:s. I think they make enough money from the legit PSP owners who stick strictly to OFW to cover our expenses don't you?

    ^ The only time I use my PSP browser for surfing was way back during the first time I got my PSP... You know a new PSP owner just checking here and there. Then nada. Nahi.

    I often use the browser to get on DEVILS SHADOW when I'm not home. I've actually even used it to DL games off the net too.(I know, it's kinda slow,but it works.)

    Sigh! just Sony's way of trying to get us excited, we might get some cool additions to the functionality of our little hand held wonder machine, most of the time, its nothing to write home about especially for us CFW users who get most if not more than Sony give anyway.

    Thanks for the info though, maybe there will be something interesting, or more likel it will be some security patch in a feeble attempt to stop the hackers. Which i think is futile.

    @Venom
    Hey, never thought of that. Seriously ^^ Perhaps because of the original PSP browser nature.
    This should come handy when accessing fast internet connection. I only once tried downloading themes. That its
