Taking the update folder out is still considered ripping noob. The only reason i didn't rip anything else is because a lot of people , like me, like playing the full game.

puffin, not to get on your case again, but youve really been pickin on a lot of ppl here recently. and yeah ITS IS TECHNICALLY RIPPING THE GAME....if you take something out its called ripping.
READ THE INTRO TO KOD's ISO/CSO MASTER LIST....he says that nothing is ripped EXCEPT FOR THE UPDATE when possible. so YEAH....ripping the update IS A RIP....some ppl like to know that info before they download. i'm not a mod, but a friendly suggestion....be a lil less harsh to ppl...and do a lil research before making an assumption.

No puffin_nugs is right....removing the Update does not modify the game in any way...it's like removing the trailers that precede a film. If you're arguing using Kiss' post as an example then every single one of his uploads belongs in the Rips section....which they don't. Ripping the update does not make the GAME a ripped game.

Also the way i read it things got aggro when puffin_nugs got called a noob. I personally have no issue with him.

What's with all the over reacting a defensiveness lately?

I'd agree that ripping the update folder or padding isn't a ripped game, but the guy didn't do much wrong by posting this here as he did say exactly what he ripped,

Just for clarification i would consider a ripped game something with noticeable files taken out or re-linked for example:

Multi language games with all languages except one taken out or re-linked to one language, this is useful people who only speak on language and the extra languages are just taking up space

Games like any of the 3 GTA's where the radio stations can be relinked as listening to different radio stations while your driving around isn't important to some people,

Games with huge videos in them, where video files can be re - linked (normally to a smaller intro video)

osti as far as the "mini modding thing", ive done this before...if it shouldnt be done let me know, but it was just my opinion, and i dont TELL ppl what to do like im giving orders...i even stated that. besides puffin HAS been a lil touchy with ppl lately. but i agree i dont have any personal prob with him either. i dont mean to offend when i do such things, so i apologize if i offended....

It was just this....i belong to MANY forums and i'm used to this sort of turn of phrase being used to prompt Moderator intervention. If you had eliminated those first four words it wouldn't be an issue....puffin knows you're not a mod so it was unnecessary.

my bad. i wasnt using that to prompt anyone to intervene...i just say that to clarify that im not trying to assume any kind of power i do not have. i didnt want to come off as being an ass tellin someone something like i hold mod status or something. i definitely didnt mean anything negative by the statement.
