    Default Extracting Files101 using winrar/7zip

Alot of people ask "how do I get the "iso" out of a .rar or 7zip,(not just on this forum, just about every forum i goto)(and im wicked bored) so in this lil tutorial ill explain for you guys.

Step 1: Download either winrar or 7Zip, install
(7zip is my preference, its free)

Step 2: In winrar goto Options-->Settings--->Integration...you should get a screen like below, tick what i have ticked
(if youd like to see the winrar icon for these ,its not mandatory, but definitely untick iso to prevent accidental over-extraction)
(you can always come back later to adjust, those are just the ones I use)

In 7zip goto Tools-->options-->system and tick the same things as winrar.(the same as 7zip)

Step 3: Download ALL files needed, some times its 1 sometimes it could be a hundred
but get them ALL and put into the SAME folder

*Side note* sometimes uploaders are generous enough to offer true mirrors, this means they upped the same exact file to more than 1 hoster
so you can download the complete package quicker,
eg..... you can download part1 from rapidshare,part2 from megaupload,etc...etc... at the same time so you can get the complete package a little quicker
but be wary sometimes they arent "true mirrors" and you cannot interchange them, usually they will state right on top of the links if they are "interchangleable"

below is a pic with a example of what Final Fantasy crisis core looks like, with all parts
(yours might have a file or 2 less or more depending on where you get it,and might have stacked books icon if you associated winrar with it) :)

    note the part#s,

Step 4) Find the first part of the package, (in this example it is Final Fantasy VII Crisis Core.part1)
right click and youll get a dialogue box similar to this, (The 3 options were interested in right now are circled)

now ill explain the 3 circled options

Extract files: this will extract all the contents to a specific directory, good to keep organized, i use this to extract the file right to my external hard drive
Extract Here: will extract the contents in the same spot as all the parts
Extract To: (in this example it says Final Fantasy Crisis Core): this will create a folder in the same directory with the name of the rar
as the name of the folder, this is a good practice to get in because some people dont put everything in a folder, so potentially,if you dl
a wallpaper pack and just hit "extract here" you could end up with a 1000 jpeg pics all over your download folder, instead of in a subfolder.

*sidenote* If when you hit any of the extract options you see a password dialogue box.....Do not copy/paste the password, sometimes
it wont work, just do it manually, the password should be on top of the post,or in the thread

If all goes well (which it should this is all pretty easy stuff, you should see something like this

just let that finish (sometimes this can take awhile)
then you should get something like this..........

Or a folder if you used that option

if so CONGRATS you got your iso.(your .iso might have a different icon, i have my .isos associated with alcohol 120%,thats a whole other tutorial)

Heres a little trick i Like 2 do if you have the rar or zip associated, double click the part 1,thatll open up winrar or 7zip (if you got it associated)
itll open up and youll see the contents of that archive, just find what your looking for click/hold/drag to where you want and theyll just extract that file
to where you dropped it :)

This my first tutorial so lemme know if it helps anyone and Im always up for suggestions/criticism

    I just had a thought!

I always hit the Test button (available in both Winrar and 7Zip) when i have all the parts of whatever i'm getting to double check everthing is good without actually having to extract. Making a habit of this might stop all the headaches people have about finding they have a corrupt part.
