USE THIS GUIDE AT YOUR OWN RISK!!!! I am not responsible if your PSP gets damaged in any way.
-You can check your firmware by going to System Settings===>System Information.
-You can check your PSP model by removing the battery and check whether you have a PSP 1000/2000 or 3000, this image should show you where to look:![]()
-Remove your PSP's Battery and check the Date Code. This picture should show you where to locate the Date Code![]()
-If your PSP 2000 has a Date Code of 8C, then you must have the TA-088 V3 Motherboard which is the semi hackable PSP, but you could install 6.20 PRO-B Permanent Patch which installs the CFW permanently on your PSP 2000 with TA-088 V3 Motherboard.
-Anything below 8C is fully hackable so refer to the spoiler labeled "To hack PSP 100x/200x(FULLY HACKABLE!)".
If you're above 6.39 then I suggest you refer to the spoiler named "To downgrade PSP 1000/2000/3000/Go from 6.XX to 6.20 and then update to 6.39. If you're below 6.39 then I suggest you update to 6.39 by downloading thisand extract the file.

-Make a new folder and rename it to "UPDATE" and place the EBOOT.PBP file inside the UPDATE folder and then copy the UPDATE folder to the PSP/GAME folder.
-Run the 6.39 Official Firmware through the XMB and then follow the instructions to update.
-Downloadand extract the file.

-Place both "PROUPDATE" and "CIPL_Flasher" into the PSP/GAME folder.
-Run the PROUPDATE through the XMB and press X to install, it'll automatically reboot your PSP.
-Run the CIPL Flasher through the XMB and press X to install.
-Few touches for better performance. Press select VSH Menu should appear and switch both CPU Clock XMB/GAME to 333/166 and UMD ISO Mode to Sony NP9660 and then press X on "Enter Recovery" it should take you take you to the Recovery Menu and go to the Advanced section and switch Memory Stick Speedup to "Always".
-(Skip this step if you're already on 6.20 OFW)-Download theand extract the file. Make a new folder and rename it to "UPDATE" and put the "EBOOT.PBP" of the 6.20 OFW inside the UPDATE folder. Place the UPDATE folder in the PSP/GAME folder and run it through the PSP's XMB and follow the instructions, if you're above 6.20 then I recommend you to downgrade to 6.20 to install 6.20 PRO-B9 Permanent Patch, so refer to the spoiler named "To downgrade PSP 1000/2000/3000/Go from 6.XX OFW to 6.20 OFW.

-Once you're on 6.20 OFW, downloadand extract it.

-Copy both "PROUPDATE" and "620PRO_Permanent" to the PSP/GAME folder and run PRO Update through the XMB first and press X to install it.
-If you're a PSP 3000 user, then you must check what unit your PSP is whether it has 3g/4g/5g etc... Now downloadand copy the "PSPIDENT" folder and run it through the XMB.

-Mine for example is 2g because I own a PSP 2000, here's a screenshot to show you where to look![]()
-In case your PSP 3000 has a unit that is higher than 5g then you forget about this spoiler and pick "To hack PSP 2000(TA088 V3 Motherboard/Date Code 8C/PSP3000/Go 6.39/6.60 OFW".
-Once you installed 6.20 PRO, Run the 6.20 PRO Permanent Patch and press X once to choose to install, then press X again to choose to test it.
If your PSP successfully rebooted after the test, then run the permanent patch again, but this time press X and then Circle to install.
-Few touches for better performance. Press select VSH Menu should appear and switch both CPU Clock XMB/GAME to 333/166 and UMD ISO Mode to Sony NP9660 and then press X on "Enter Recovery" it should take you take you to the Recovery Menu and go to the Advanced section and switch Memory Stick Speedup to "Always
-In case you own a PSP 2000 TA-088 V3/Date Code 8C/PSP 3000/Go then I suggest you refer to the spoiler named "To hack PSP 2000(TA-088 V3 Motherboard/Date Code 8C/PSP3000/Go 6.20 OFW". In case you already followed that guide and your PSP 3000 turned out to have a PSP unit higher than 5g then follow this spoiler.
If you're below 6.39 then I suggest you update to 6.39 by downloading thisand extract the file.

-Make a new folder and rename it to "UPDATE" and place the EBOOT.PBP file inside the UPDATE folder and then copy the UPDATE folder to the PSP/GAME folder.
-Run the 6.39 Official Firmware through the XMB and then follow the instructions to update.
-Downloadand extract the file.

-Copy both "PROUPDATE" and "FastRecovery" folders into the PSP/GAME.
-Run the PROUPDATE through the XMB and press X to install.
-In case you reboot your PSP and the Light Custom Firmware is gone, just simply run FastRecovery through the XMB to reinstall 6.39 PRO-B10 quickly without going through the process with PROUPDATE.
-Few touches for better performance. Press select VSH Menu should appear and switch both CPU Clock XMB/GAME to 333/166 and UMD ISO Mode to Sony NP9660 and then press X on "Enter Recovery" it should take you take you to the Recovery Menu and go to the Advanced section and switch Memory Stick Speedup to "Always".
--In case you own a PSP 2000 TA-088 V3/Date Code 8C/PSP 3000/Go then I suggest you refer to the spoiler named "To hack PSP 2000(TA-088 V3 Motherboard/Date Code 8C/PSP3000/Go 6.20 OFW". -If you're on 6.60 OFW, then downloadand extract the file.

-In case you reboot your PSP and the Light Custom Firmware is gone, just simply run FastRecovery through the XMB to reinstall 6.60 PRO-B9 quickly without going through the process with PROUPDATE.
-Few touches for better performance. Press select VSH Menu should appear and switch both CPU Clock XMB/GAME to 333/166 and UMD ISO Mode to Sony NP9660 and then press X on "Enter Recovery" it should take you take you to the Recovery Menu and go to the Advanced section and switch Memory Stick Speedup to "Always".
-Download theand extract the file. Make a new folder and rename it to "UPDATE" and put the "EBOOT.PBP" of the 6.20 OFW inside the UPDATE folder. Place the UPDATE folder in the PSP/GAME folder.

-Download theand place the "Chronoswitch Downgrader" folder in the PSP/GAME folder and run the downgrader through the XMB.

-Once you ran the downgrader, press X and it should take you to the installation screen of 6.20 OFW and follow the instructions (It will take a couple of seconds to take you to the installation screen of 6.20 OFW, so be patient with it).
-Once the installation is done, reboot your PSP and you should get this blue screen:Do not worry just simply press O and it'll repair and restore default settings.![]()
