Newbie's Magic Memory Stick Creation Tools.

Up until now we haven't really bothered with this sort of thing since everyone appears to have CFW already. However, just for ease of reference and pre-empting a problem i've picked a couple of the tools that i'd recommend to anyone who's making a Magic Memory stick using their PC and a USB Pro Duo reader. They essentially do the same job, although the first is loaded with lots of options whilst the second is a simple lock and load app... just pick one and go. As always both require a Pandora battery to install CFW on a 'hackable' PSP.(i.e not a TA-088v3 Slim or a PSP 3000)

The simple option -

// Requirements //
Windows 2000, XP, Vista, 7 or Newer
Official Firmware Update for 5.00 (Find on your local PSP Site)
Memory Stick Pro Duo 256 mb or greater recommended (8 GB and more DOES work).


// Usage //
- Run RainsUltraLiteMMS.exe, if you are on Vista or Windows 7 you maybe greeted by a UAC Dialog asking for admin privelages. This is necessary for IPL Injection.

- At anytime connect the psp to the computer via USB, it should be detected automatically. You can also use a card reader, you will have to select the drive letter.

- Place the official firmware update file named EBOOT.PBP or 500.PBP in the same folder as the program OR you will be asked for its location during make MMS.

- Checking format is recommended for best success however not necessary. If formatting you can optionally backup your memory stick. The files will be placed in a new folder with the MMS Maker.

- Close any windows or other programs connected to the PSP.

- When ready click Make MMS and wait for it to finish.

- Put your MMS into the PSP, Holding the Left / L1 Trigger put your Pandora's Battery into the psp.

// TroubleShooting / FAQ //
It says the IPL Injection failed - Retry with the format option. Some sticks including select sony and any fake stick might not work with the pandora IPL injection. I recommend SanDisk for the best results but many others work as well.

- Installs jas0nuk's Pandora ELF+PBP Menu to access all the programs.
- Installs Hellcats Pandora Installer to your PSP.
- Installs the M33 1.50 Kernel Addon Installers to your PSP.
- Installs POPSLoader (3.30, 3.40, 3.51, 3.72, 3.80, 3.90, 4.01) to your PSP.
- Installs the Noobz Pandora 1.50 Downgrader to your PSP.
- Installs Despertar Cementerio v3 to your PSP.

How to use it:
1. Start the Application and load in the Eboot files.
2. Select your PSP Drive to be formatted and prepared.
3. Select the "Installation Options" and choose the installers, programs,
and other options you would like to do to your Memory Stick.
4a.(Optional) If you selected to install the XMB or Pandora Support Tools,
you will need to go to the "Support Tools Options" tab and select the
programs that you want to install.
4b.(Optional) Go back to the "Firmware+Pandora Options" and use the Pandora
Button Configurator to set up the buttons to your liking.
5. Press the "Start" button to start formatting and copying files to your PSP.

If anyone wants to suggest their own alternatives, updates or indeed better tools for the job feel free to tack them on here...Hellcat's Recovery Flasher makes the choice of starting firmware slightly irrelevant now which is why i've kept the first option so recent.

Can u tell me how i can MAKE the pandora battery... rather than buy it.... as im living in england.... so i cant rele bother ordering it form US - also i kno that peeps have made them b4 - but i'd rather have somone here explain to me.... as i trust u guys more then random peeps on youtube :P.....

You make them by cutting up your own battery....cracking open the casing and disecting out a tiny pin. Personally i'd always opt for that battery i posted above (this link) since you'll retain a good battery (if your mod goes wrong good luck getting another good battery!) plus you'll have a dedicated Pandora. DealExtreme is the cheapest option and you'll have the battery in about 7 days...Amazon.co.uk is faster but more expensive. If you still want to go ahead with the procedure even though i'd recommend against it let me know...

nah... i got someone in my house (boarding house at skwl) who has a pandora battery.... but the little douc*e wont let me use it.... wen he OFFERED IT TO ME!...
