April 3, 2007 - Making the Wii accessible to almost everyone was Nintendo’s main goal when designing their nextgen console. ThinkGeek has taken this ideal one step further in developing the WiiHelm!
According to their site, ThinkGeek developed the WiiHelm upon predicting that ‘..the average gaming geek is just not up to the strenuous task of vigorous arm movement for longer than 10 minutes.’
The package will contain the helmet which holds the Wii Remote, and some foot pedals that act as the Wii Remote buttons.
I really can’t imagine how ridiculously uncomfortable it would be to play Wii Sports using my head..I’m positive my neck would hurt far more than my nerdy little arms do after 10 minutes. Possibly someone out there will pick one up, try it out, and post an article to change our minds.
At any rate, check out their site–there’s a movie showing the WiiHelm in action.
