need help with the 360
I've got a BenQ drive with LT 1.2. I never go online to play so I'm not worried about getting banned. Will I be able to play newer games? Last time I downloaded a game it was Splinter Cell Conviction or Final Fantasy XIII. After the new year when I get a decent internet connection and some good download speeds, I wanna finally get some of the newer games. I just wanna know if I will be able to play say....Fable 3 if I download it with my current flashed drive. CEK, if you see this I know that you're a pro with the 360 and could use your advice. Thanks to any responses in advance.
EDIT:
Okay, after researching I've found out (I think) that I do need to update. I have a tutorial on how to do so. All I have is a laptop. I no longer have a desktop. Can I still pull this off? Is it really difficult? I can take the 360 apart no problem but what other tools do I need? And can I play games I've already burned after the update to LT+? As you may have guessed, yes I'm a total noob at xbox hacking.

Sorry for the slow reply, been busy with poorly babies and a poorly me!
OK, you do need to update if you're interested in keeping XBL, newer games now have a new Anti Piracy method, they're simply calling it AP2.5, there no way to circumvent it for older LT firmwares so LT+ is needed as it is designed to work with AP2.5 patching. You could play newer games with LT 1.2 but you would most likely get banned as AP2.5 flags your system pretty quick, but since you have stated you don't go on XBL this should not matter to you. To play newer games on your current fimrware you would simply need to get the latest version of AGBX . Download that, install it, when you get your newer ISO's simply run them through AGBX before burning them with IMG Burn and you should be just fine.
Any other questions ?

Forgot to answer your question about Laptops
The only way to Flash a 360 is with a desktop PC using a PCI Sata card with VIA6421 chipset. It's not complex really, basic tech knowledge about disassembling and grounding is essential but otherwise it's pretty straight forward. You do disassemble the 360 from it's plastic shell but that is all, you leave it in the metal case you find within, simply unplug the sATA cable from the disc drive and plug it into your PCI Sata card with VIA6421 chipset with the provided sATA cable and run a few programs. Will go into more detail when and if you have access to a desktop PC.

Thanks so much CEK. That explains everything I needed to know. Thanks so much for your response. I've downloaded the abgx and now I'll get imgburn. I had both on my desktop but I gave it to my parents so they could use it for my nephew's schoolwork. So now I'm all set. Thanks very much again.

Hi
also the VIA chip is only needed for BenQ drives. my liteon was flashed to LT+1.1 with an Intel sata chipset and works fine :-)
