No matter the fail rate(imho EVERY 360 WILL fail at some point), this trick will be very useful after the warranty is over. Why not give it a go? The only thing that could happen is to break something that's already broken.

It Halloween Watch Your Back
I was given an XBOX 360 to attempt to fix it. After reading/watching many Tuts/Vids, I finally tried the X-Clamp Fix. All I did was remove and reapply the thermal paste. I used the same clamps. It worked for about 45 minutes then RROD'd (2 Lights). Tried a couple more times with the last time doing the penny fix. It has been working for 1 1/2 hours. Hopefully, this has fixed it. Thanks!
ive tried it....its only a temporary method...check out my video response to that YT vid....p.s. my YT name is hellrazor117...
once you fix it, will it ever get the RROD again?
Itīs work but not 4rever & ever. Thanks.
this will only work if your ram chips are over heating, i'm pretty sure its a 2 light error,
if its your gpu or cpu that are the proplem then this will in no way help at all and the 360 will think its fixed for only a short time, then the rrod will return.
the only perminent fix for the rrod is a good old reballing (expensive), or a reflow may perminantly fix it too (cheaper) but a reflow has a higher rrod return rate,
you people need to know your error codes, hold eject and press the power button 4 times, each press will give you a differant number lights, heres the key...
1 light = 1, 2 lights = 2, 3 lights = 3, 4 lights = 0,
type youe code in here, this is the only way you will find your problem and proceed corectly with out unnecessarily voiding your warrenty
sorry for the mini rant but too many people make things worse because of lack of research
Ive tryed this one and the xclamps one and neither one worked for me. Did everything perfect but after 1 minute back to red rings, I got a new xbox but im still trying to fix my old one.
